well, no replies but I thought i'd share what I've been doing for it.
    1. Check with guitar teach to make sure I'm holding instrument properly
    2. Go to doc
    3. VERY IMPORTANT DEMAND PHYSICAL THERAPY
    4. Go to said therapy and do what the therapist says. She knew WAY more than the stupid doctor did.
    5. Don't use hands (uh, yeah....I'm going completely nuts. house is a mess, I can only use internet for like 20 minutes, haven't practiced guitar for like 5 weeks.)

    Yes. Alexander Technique. www.alexandertech.org

I am a teacher of the A.T. It can do away with carpal tunnel. It is usually because of your head/neck relationship. If you are pulling your head tightly down it squashes the nerves that go to the hand. You won't regret taking lessons anyway. It's stupendous. The most relaxing thing going. Lots of benefits, freedom and ease being some.

You'll need to find a teacher. Check out the website.

    Where are you?

Heh my guitar ensemble leader recommended the Alexander Technique! I live in Concord, CA. Also may have Carpal Tunnel due to neck injury you think? What do you think of chiropractic work for carpal tunnel? My physical therapist says no, but my chiropractor has worked wonders on my neck in a matter of days....hmmmm...any thoughts? Recommendation on a teacher in my area?

I looked on the website and found one teacher in Concord. I don't know her but call her and talk to her and see if there is a connection. Then try one lesson and see if you likie likie her. Otherwise I know many of the others in the East Bay.

The injury might make you more prone to CT but it is not the reason for it, I would guess. Re: Chiropractic: If it helps keep on doing it.
